With a willing spirit, an open heart, and a growth mindset...
I provide individual counseling and psychotherapy services to adults from the age of 18 to 64. My areas of expertise include anxiety and mood management, adjustment to life transitions, trauma reprocessing and integration, and group and organizational dynamics. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate issues related to identity and authenticity, women heal and grow, Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs) cope and flourish, and artists thrive in the face of the unique challenges with which their creative lives present them. I utilize a strengths-based, systems-oriented, and relational approach to help you enhance your psychological, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being. My approach is also integrative in nature in that I incorporate psychodynamic, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and solution-focused techniques. I use warmth, enthusiasm, and assertiveness to build a strong and fortifying therapeutic alliance with you and to create a safe and engaging space in which your counseling and psychotherapy aims can be achieved.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University, a Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages Certificate from American University, and Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Cultural Theory from Duke University. Prior to entering the field of counseling psychology, I enjoyed careers in both the performing arts and teaching. I have engaged in intensive postgraduate training in Trauma Informed Practice, EMDR, Affirmative Practices with the LGBTQ Community, Multi-Systemic and Multi-Cultural Practice, and Creative and Expressive Therapies as well as in Energy Psychology, Reading, and Healing. I also engage in both individual and group modern psychoanalytic psychotherapy to further my own learning, healing, growth, and transformation.
